Behavioral Programs within the school
G.R.E.A.T. Program: Gang resistance education and training. Police force representative (Officer Bradley) runs course once a week with middle school age students www.great-online.org/
CBITS: Crisis Prevention counselor, Mr. Clam, and school social worker, Ms. Jones, run group that deals with coping. Program targets students (grades 4 and 5) who are responding to stress/trauma.
Second Step: Violence Prevention Program directed to grades pre-k-8. Taught by classroom teacher, course deals with empathy training, and decision making…thinking before you react, practicing impulse control.
